Getting Around
The nearest bus stop is in Colle di Val d’Elsa, about 10 minutes by car, and the nearest train station is in Poggibonsi, around 20 minutes by car. The closest village is Casole d’Elsa (approximately 5 km / 8 minutes) — we highly recommend a visit, as it’s truly picturesque and full of charm.

What a gorgeous place! We could have stayed much longer. Excellent location as a launching off point for visiting many of the Tuscany highlights, this place is right in the center of all of them. The recommendations for restaurants and vineyards were absolutely spot on as well. Highly recommend!
Romantic scenery and wonderful room in the tuscan country side! Giovanni and his daughter are wonderful hosts… Further you have to ask them for good restaurants…
We had a lovely stay in this characteristic private room in a beautiful old town with medieval setting. You can do day trips to Sienna, Volterra, San Gimignano, Chianti, Florence,… all within 30-45 minutes drive from the place, and chill down by the pool in the afternoon. You must have a car to get around.Within less than 10mintes walking, there is a great Cafe with fresh deli and also a local restaurant called La Speranza, where you can experience a true Tuscan environment. Reservation is recommended as it’s usually packed. We will definitely come back; thank you Giovanni, Tessa, and Yasmine for the great hospitality and making our first trip to Italy unforgettable 🙂

Giovanni’s place is wonderful! Such a beautiful setting with great facilities especially the huge pool and lovely gardens. Everything is so well maintained. The room is very spacious and comfortable. It’s very clean with a nice big shower and great air con!! Having a car is a must to explore the area. Giovanni left us a booklet with lots of recommendations! Highly recommend.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel chez Giovanni.
Notre hôte a été très sympathique, nous a aidé lors du départ pour pouvoir profiter de notre journée de départ. C’est vraiment quelqu’un de gentil et de prévenant. Autour du logement, c’est magnifique. Le logement, la piscine, le jardin et le paysage tout est beau. Tout était propre et il y avait des draps à disposition. Très calme le soir, on a bien dormi.
Il y a de très belles villes autour dont casole du val d’Elsa où nous avions bien Très bien mangé.
Je conseille fortement ce logement.

Beautiful property in the middle of Tuscany! Close to some our favorite cities including; Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza and Montepulciano. Would be a great place to stay for a few days and explore the Tuscan countryside. The villa is beautiful and the family is very friendly and helpful – would love to visit again when we have more time to relax!
September 2024Absolutely authentic feeling and experience in the beautiful medieval borgo. Good location to travel around the region and after daily tours to return to this peaceful temporary home. Beautiful rooms in a restored medieval building with own exterior access. Just gorgeous! Giovanni and Yasmine welcomed us very warmly which we really appreciated. The space is gorgeous, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The setting is Tuscan countryside with hill towns of Volterra, San Gino.. and Sienna only a short drive away making it a great location to explore the region from. We are very glad we stayed here – a top choice. Best to arrive in daylight to see the country road and entrance. We didn’t but got there in the end 🙂 highly recommend.
My stay was phenomenal! The entire family went out of their way to support my journey through their suggestions and quick communication. The property is gorgeous and the room is extremely special – it’s as though old world charm met modern Tuscany. They left fresh roses at my bedside and I ate a home cooked meal in their kitchen. It felt like home away from home. Do not miss staying at this special place if you want to explore Tuscany!

Our stay in Giovanni and family’s wonderful apartment was amazing. It is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a week stay. The garden was a lovely private space and we enjoyed the lush communal swimming pool.
We loved the area and the recommendations of the hosts (such as pizzas at La Pergola and the town of Pienza and nearby villages). Worth also checking out for future visitors are Dulcisinfundo (restaurant), Dalet Centro IllustroLibreria (bookshop) and superb live classical music in San Gimigniano (tickets via tourist office). For a vegan treat you can try I Pini next to San Gimigniano.

September 2023Giovanni, Tessa and family are the most wonderful hosts I’ve ever had. Incredibly generous, kind and all round beautiful people. The suite is exactly what the pictures paint it to be – charming, cosy and you immediately feel right at home. The surroundings are everything that you’d wish for in a Tuscan holiday and all the sights are very accessible. I feel so grateful to have been able to stay here. Giovanni, Tessa, Yasmine, Cassia and their 3 sweet cats will be friends for life.
Es war eine wahre Freude, in diesem schönen Apartment in den malerischen Hügeln der Toskana zu übernachten. Wir hätten uns keine bessere Erfahrung wünschen können. Giovanni and his family are very friendly hosts. In the very clean apartement with own bathroom it is possible to make your own brakfast ( fridge and hotwater cooker available ). Several helpful informations are given by Giovanni. Free Wi-Fi also available and you stay in the middle of Tuscany. With a car you can reach many interesting little villages nearby ( 10-25 km ), restaurants as well as Siena or Firenze. We recommend this apartement and these hosts.
This place is amazing! The room is much larger than you would expect from the pictures and everything matches perfectly in the medieval style! You need a car but it is only 30 minutes to visit siena/ san gimi/ volterra and other cool villages. We were sorry we could only stay for 2 nights!

Giovanni e la sua famiglia persone squisite, disponibili e alla mano. La location , immersa nel verde e nella tranquillità ci ha lasciato a bocca aperta. Se dovete scegliere un posto dove andare e pernottare vi consiglio vivamente questo! Posizione ideale per raggiungere poi le meravigliose città di Siena,Firenze, passando per Monteriggioni piuttosto che San Gimignano. Che dire poi della cucina Toscana… del vino.. dell olio.. si commentano da soli Grazie ancora a chi ci ha ospitato, sicuramente faremo ritorno, anche nel periodo estivo per poter usufruire della piscina !!???? October 2024WOW, WOW it was just amazing! Our only regret was not staying more time at this place. It was a small jewel in the middle of Tuscany, the room was very nicely decorated, the grounds very well kept, the atmosphere so peaceful, and Giovanni super friendly. They also have us great recomendations, the restaurant we visited because of them was, with no doubt, the best in our trip. We will be back!

The guest room is beautifully decorated with traditional items and set in stunning countryside – it’s possible to walk in the woods directly from the house. The family are wonderful and made our stay a joy. There is one restaurant and a bar is nearby, but a car is needed to get to anywhere else. The hosts have put a pin on Google maps, which is a great idea to help find the place. Highly recommended for a visit to the Tuscan countryside.
